Coolum beach - Hidden Oasis

This whole house was dark timber from the floors, walls and roof. The ceilings were low. Therefore we knew we had to paint it all white to help make the space feel open, light and airy.

We completely guttered the kitchen and relocated the stairs to allow a much larger space. As we were on a tight budget for this project, we decided to use a mix of Bunning’s cabinetry and Ikea. The white side is all from Bunnings, the kaboodle range, and the black side was from Ikea the KUNGSBACKA range.

The timber benchtop was a custom made one utilising the timber slabs from bunnings.

The bathroom you would not believe is the same house!

This bathroom was very hard as the walls angled both ways. We extended the bathroom out by a meter to intergrade the laundry. We made a separate room for the toilet and reused the bath.

We saved a lot of money as we did not go floor to ceiling with the tiles, and I shopped at the Tile Factory Outlet on the sunshine coast. These grey floor tiles cost be just $12.00 a square meter and the white wall tiles $15 a square meter.
